Wave Ventures has named Margarethe Böhme, 23, as its new managing partner, making her one of the youngest leaders of a European venture fund according to the firm. Böhme will take charge of investments from the fund’s newly closed €10 million vehicle, which the company says is five times larger than the previous €2 million fund.
She succeeds Johannes Korpela and will steer a Nordic investment programme that plans roughly 10–20 new investments a year and typically invests up to €150,000 in initial rounds at the angel and pre-seed stages. Böhme brings early entrepreneurial experience—she founded her first company at 14—and prior fund experience building node.vc’s presence in Finland while studying at Hanken School of Economics.
