SoftBank plans to issue high-yield bonds equivalent to NOK 104 billion to finance a further investment in OpenAI, Shifter reports, citing the Financial Times. The borrowing would fund a later part of SoftBank's investment commitment. At the time of the report, the bond issue was still planned rather than a completed capital raise by OpenAI.

Shifter says SoftBank had previously arranged bridge financing for its OpenAI investments, which were structured in several parts. The new bond plan concerns how SoftBank would finance its own purchase of an investment stake. It does not mean OpenAI has issued bonds or received the bond proceeds directly. The reported financing was prospective when Shifter published the story.
