Obos plans to cut about 200 positions by the end of 2027, roughly one in ten employees, FinansWatch reported. The cooperative has not specified how many cuts will come from its digital unit, which was created in 2017.
Henning Lunde, head of Obos Venture, told Shifter by SMS that the venture arm will continue to follow existing portfolio companies, evaluate new investment opportunities and that activity goes as normal; he pointed to recent follow-up investments in AI visualisation platform Visoid and in Volve.
Kode24 reported the cuts will lead Obos to scale back IT ambitions. Obos communications director Thomas Skjennald told Kode24 the company will adjust some external development capacity and is reviewing other parts of the organisation.
