Norwegian audit firm Benford has raised €5 million in a pre-seed funding round led by firstminute capital, Global Founders Capital, and Sondo. This funding will support the company's mission to enhance its tech-driven audit services, including the development of its proprietary AuditOS platform that automates routine audit processes while maintaining auditor oversight.
The investment will enable Benford to expand its operations into Sweden and other European markets. The company plans to hire additional staff in both audit and engineering roles, reflecting the increasing demand for innovative solutions within the traditional auditing sector. Founded by Mads Bogen Øye, Thibault Mallion, and Andreas Rystad, Benford aims to offer improved customer experiences in audits.
Benford's approach signifies a shift in how audits are delivered rather than changing the essence of auditing itself, as it seeks to revolutionize client experiences in financial auditing.
