Molde-based Nofence has introduced N3, a cattle collar that combines its virtual-fencing system with alerts for calving, heat and reduced activity. The device can use mobile networks, satellite links and the company's collar-to-collar HerdNet network. Shifter reports that satellite coverage is included in the standard subscription.
The satellite connection is aimed particularly at markets outside Norway, where mobile coverage may not reach grazing cattle. Nofence also says N3 supports scheduled moves for rotational grazing and automatically generated grazing reports. The company claims a 99.7% fencing rate for the new collar and offers a ten-year warranty; these are company-reported figures.
The product follows a EUR 30 million funding round in the previous year. Shifter reports that Nofence's staff grew from 67 to 92 during 2025 and has since reached 120, including 15 in the US. Its revenue rose to NOK 232.6 million from NOK 202 million, while its reported losses widened. Nofence did not state the N3 price in the launch announcement.
