LITILIT, a laser manufacturer based in Vilnius, secured an €8 million loan from Lithuanian National Development Bank ILTE, ArcticStartup reports. The debt finances development of FEMODA, a modular femtosecond laser system for industrial use. The project has a total stated value of €10 million, with LITILIT contributing the remaining €2 million itself.

FEMODA is being designed for applications such as metal tool production, large surface coatings, electronics, displays and semiconductor manufacturing. LITILIT says the modular design combines optical components, cooling and control electronics in a unit intended to simplify installation and maintenance compared with some existing high-power systems. Those performance goals describe the planned system, not a completed commercial product.

The company began developing FEMODA in 2024 and planned commercialisation for the second half of 2029 when the report was published. It was also building a new production facility in Vilnius. The €8 million financing is a development-bank loan; describing it as an ordinary startup investment round would misstate the source of the capital.
