Intro, a platform for warm introductions between businesses, had raised NOK 11 million so far in its first funding round when Shifter reported on the company. Founders Øyvind Kvamme Vik and Bjørn Furnes Fjellby said the financing came from 29 investors in 11 countries. The fundraising was still in progress at the time of the report.
The platform is intended to help someone make a direct introduction between people they already know, rather than relying on cold outreach. Intro collects information about what users are building and whom they hope to meet so that existing contacts can connect them with relevant people. Access to the service is by invitation.
Vik previously founded video technology company Seen, while Fjellby co-founded gaming company Scout Gaming Group. They registered Intro in the United States, but said further platform development had moved to Bergen. The founders described warm introductions from trusted contacts as the problem they are building the new company to address.
