INIT has acquired 67.74% of Kongsberg-based Applied Autonomy, a company that develops control systems for driverless buses in Stavanger. Founded in 2017, Applied Autonomy offers xFlow, a platform for monitoring and remotely controlling autonomous vehicles regardless of their manufacturer, ensuring connectivity to a control center for operational coordination.
With this acquisition, Applied Autonomy will be integrated into INIT's Integrated Systems unit. The collaboration will allow xFlow to be combined with INIT’s existing MOBILE-ITCS control system, enabling both autonomous and conventional buses to run within a unified framework. This strategic move is expected to rapidly scale Applied Autonomy's operations.
The partnership aims to accelerate growth in autonomous public transport solutions and enhance the technological integration of the two systems.
