The Global Deep Tech Showcase Awards selected 40 finalists for its NORDEEP event in Espoo, Finland, ArcticStartup reports. The shortlist includes startups, research spin-offs and teams developing technology in fields such as quantum computing, AI infrastructure, robotics, energy, biotechnology and space. Selection for the shortlist is a chance to compete at the event, not an award win.
The competition has six technology-focused categories and two Research-to-Business categories. The technology categories cover security and resilience, quantum and computing systems, chips and AI infrastructure, energy and materials, life sciences, and physical AI and robotics. The research categories highlight projects moving from laboratories toward commercial use and scale.
Organisers say the awards consider the strength of the underlying technology, market potential and plans to scale internationally. The showcase is also intended to connect finalists with investors, industry partners and potential customers. Winners were due to be announced across the categories at NORDEEP; the publisher's report identifies the finalists rather than the eventual winners.
