Christer Hagen, a co-founder of the tech service Docdir that was sold in May, has started a new company called Verid to develop tools for real estate agents. Verid’s product is designed to automate customer due-diligence processes so that identity and compliance checks that currently take around an hour can be completed in about five minutes.
Hagen draws on years of experience in real estate—he has worked as an estate agent for nine years and is a partner and commercial broker at Advanti Estate—and says the new service aims to help brokers comply with anti-money-laundering rules more efficiently by consolidating and automating the information brokers now gather from multiple sources.
