Business Finland has entered a cooperation agreement with the Eastern Finland vitality centre to boost investment promotion across Eastern Finland.
The collaboration aims to speed up the realisation of international investments and to tie the region’s investment work more closely to Business Finland’s Invest in Finland national and international networks. The agreement applies to South Savo, North Karelia, North Savo, South Karelia and Kymenlaakso and is part of implementation of the Eastern Finland programme.
As part of the arrangement, Business Finland will recruit a new investment promotion specialist to join the Invest in Finland team. That specialist will work with municipal authorities, regional development companies and local investment teams to develop investment leads, prepare investor visits, support companies already located in the region and raise Eastern Finland’s profile both nationally and internationally. The cooperation is intended to serve as a pilot for closer national and regional coordination of investment promotion.
