Aiba announced that its moderation platform Amanda has been deployed in 21 games from Finnish developer Rovio, with the agreement signed in winter and the service going live before summer, according to CEO Hege Tokerud. Aiba said it was not allowed to discuss the deal until now; Rovio is owned by Japanese Sega.
Founded in April 2022 with 11 employees and technology spun out of NTNU, Aiba describes Amanda as a real-time analyser of text, images and speech that flags attempts at sexual abuse, harassment and other harmful behaviour, Tokerud told Shifter. The company already counts MovieStarPlanet among customers.
Aiba is closing a mid-sized equity round it expects to bring in around NOK 25 million, Tokerud said, and reported two new US customers and talks with a large global company about detecting sexual abuse. An Angry Birds title is not yet included and is planned for announcement in autumn.
