The Norwegian government has announced a real cut of NOK 40 million to Innovasjon Norge’s main entrepreneurship appropriation for 2027. The reduction appears in the budget proposal from the Ministry of Trade and Fisheries, which says it is reprioritising funds from the public support system to strengthen defence and preparedness. At the same time, the government says it will use freed Investinor funds for growth capital and new funds and aims to facilitate more private growth capital.
For 2027, the appropriation for subsidies to founders and companies will be set at NOK 1.1476 billion. That allocation funds measures such as grants for founders, start-up financing, innovation contracts and loss funds for loans and guarantees.
